Professional contractors are busy. With all the time spent in the field, working with crews and meeting with customers, there's precious little time for paperwork. That's why, all too often, you find yourself taking care of business at the end of a long, hard day. And it's why the forms you use to conduct your business are often the last thing on your mind.

"Whether you realize it or not, all customer contacts—what marketers like to call 'customer touchpoints'—reflect the image of your business and represent your corporate identity," says William Baltz, president of Focus Strategic Marketing, a Chicago-based marketing firm. "Every customer must receive a consistent message that represents your identity, or brand, at every point, from word-of-mouth to the final sale. That includes communications on your letterhead, proposals, receipts and other business forms."

Your Business Partner
Here's good news for the time-strapped professional contractor: Lowe's now offers all the online help you need to put together a suite of forms for all your business transactions, in a matter of minutes, in the Lowe's for Pros Business Tools section.

"This new resource was developed as part of Lowe's commitment to business professionals," says Mike Horn, VP Commercial Sales at Lowe's."We strive to build relationships with our customers, to partner with them in order to help grow their business. These forms are available to make that goal a little easier."

Visitors to the Lowe's Business Business Tools section can click on Business Forms, and get quick and easy access to everything you need to develop customized forms for your day-to-day business. You'll find forms you can use for your transactions with customers and vendors, as well as forms that you or your staff can use for planning and scheduling.

These templates make it easy to produce an entire suite of forms for your business. Just choose a template, download it and save it to your desktop and you have an instant form that's ready to go. Forms are saved as PDF files that you download to your PC.

Forms available at Download Static Business and Contractor Forms can be saved as Microsoft Word documents and customized with your company logo and contact information, as well as your customer information, on an as-needed basis.

The Lowe's Forms resource also provides a number of design options, such as various header styles and images that you can use as you choose as a logo or graphic on your forms.

Keep Coming Back
"We aim to provide business professionals with the forms they use most often," Horn says.

"Presenting a professional image in your business forms is a great first start for busy professional contractors when you're establishing a look and an identity—a brand—with prospects and customers," Baltz says. "After all, brands are not just for big companies."
