In the crowded remodeling market, distinguishing your company from the competition is key. Award-winning companies, remodels and designs can set you apart in the eyes of prospective clients because everyone loves a winner. 

Remodelers who take pride in their projects by entering (and winning) awards signal to clients they stand behind their work and have the know-how to ensure a smooth remodel. 

Enter award competitions. The remodeling industry has a number of award programs to recognize professionals and their expert remodeling jobs. Look to the remodelers’ council at your homebuilders’ association or other trade association for local remodeling and small business awards. 

Ready to go to the next level? Trade publications, online platforms and NAHB Remodelers offer national competitions for remodeling design and professionalism. Search industry groups on LinkedIn for award programs that fit your business profile. Homeowners want to hire a nationally recognized remodeler. 

Maximize the marketing of your win. Congratulations! You won an award or were named a finalist. Now, it’s up to you to maximize the marketing potential. 

Want to win the digital marketing game? Take professional-quality photos of the award-winning remodeling project, and don’t forget high-resolution shots of the winner with the award trophy. 

Share your photos and news of the award on your social media channels. Share news of the award on your company website and blog. Add the info to your business card. Ask the award program for a press release and send it to the consumer media in your local market. Even if your award does not make the front page, reporters now know you are a subject matter expert and may contact you for help with remodeling stories. 

Choosing a remodeler is a difficult process for most homeowners. Make it simpler for them by demonstrating what you already know: that your company is the best—with an award to prove it.
